Vacation Rentals in North Fork and the Hamptons Near Wineries

There is a particular kind of afternoon that only happens out here, one that starts with a glass of something cold and ends somewhere between a vineyard row and a sunset over the bay. The North Fork and the Hamptons sit just a bridge apart, yet together they hold one of the most celebrated wine regions on the East Coast, quiet enough to feel undiscovered and refined enough to rival anywhere in California or France.

Stay with Luxury Beach Getaway and you are never far from a tasting room worth the drive. We have gathered six of our favorites below, three tucked into the vineyards of the North Fork and three closer to the Hamptons side, so wherever you land, a glass of local wine is never more than twenty minutes away.

What Guests Are Saying About Their Stay

Sunset Perch, modern home with rooftop deck

We had a wonderful couple of weeks here! The house was gorgeous, very well equipped (the kitchen in particular – a chef’s dream!), and in a perfect location with easy access to Greenport. We were traveling with a baby and were provided a highchair and travel crib. Luxury Beach Getaways was very responsive to all of our questions and helped us arrange for housekeeping and anything else we needed. Will definitely come again!

Respite Ranch | Pool, Hot Tub & North Fork

This was the perfect weekend getaway! The house was beautiful, cozy and spacious. The backyard is massive and fully fenced in – our dog loved it. The North Fork is such a beautiful area and is not overly crowded. Would definitely go back and stay here again!

Cedar-shake Cottage, Heated pool and Gardens

We had a great time! The outdoor space was fantastic and the home was comfortable.

Shinnecock Retreat | Heated Pool & Hot Tub

Southampton Pool Home Near Village & Shinnecock

My family came from California and had a wonderful experience staying here. Our hostess Linda was wonderful, providing us with beach chairs, a beautiful location to go to the beach and was very efficient in any questions that we had. The place was beautiful, clean and very peaceful. We loved the location too!

Southampton 5BR · 4 Kings, Pool & Private Yard

We had a wonderful stay! The property was lovely and even more spacious than we expected. We got to enjoy the pool and hot tub which were both very clean and taken care of. Would definitely recommend!

Wineries to Plan Your Trip Around

A day among the vines here is unhurried by design, a slow rotation of pours, porches, and views that stretch toward the bay. These six estates across the North Fork and the Hamptons are the ones we send our guests to first, each with its own rhythm and its own reason to linger.

    Pindar Vineyards

Pindar is where most people’s North Fork wine education begins, and for good reason. It is the largest vineyard on Long Island, with a tasting room that welcomes newcomers and longtime collectors with the same warmth. The reds have a following of their own, but it is the sense of scale, the rows stretching toward the horizon, that makes a visit here feel like the real start of a North Fork wine day.

    Paumanok Vineyards

Family run since the early eighties, Paumanok has the kind of understated elegance that comes from decades of doing one thing well. It sits closest to the bridge for guests coming over from the Hamptons side, making it a natural first stop. The Chenin Blanc has quietly become a favorite among those who know the region best. Given how close it sits to the bridge, guests staying in a North Fork rental often make Paumanok their very first stop before easing into the rest of the day.

    Bedell Cellars

Bedell is the vineyard you photograph before you taste. The barn style tasting room and the long view over the vines have made it a favorite backdrop for magazine features and quiet weekday visits alike. The Merlot built its reputation here, but the setting is what guests tend to remember longest. A North Fork rental with a private pool deck makes an ideal place to review the day’s photos and pour one more glass.

    Jamesport Vineyards

One of the original estates on the North Fork, Jamesport has a settled, unhurried feel that suits a slow afternoon. Its position near the entrance to wine country makes it an easy first or last stop on a day of tasting, and the porch overlooking the vines is a favorite place to linger past the pour. For those staying nearby, a North Fork rental with its own quiet porch and private pool offers that same unhurried pace once the tasting winds down.

    Wölffer Estate Vineyard

On the Hamptons side, Wölffer sets the standard. The rosé built its reputation nationally, but it is the estate itself, manicured, sweeping, and framed by the kind of light that made this coastline famous, that keeps guests coming back. For visitors who want the wine country experience without leaving the Hamptons, this is the stop that delivers it. Your Hamptons home and its private hot tub pair beautifully with the end of a day at Wölffer.

      Frequently Asked Questions

How far is the North Fork from the Hamptons?

The two are separated by Great Peconic Bay and connected by road through Riverhead, so the drive between them typically runs between thirty and forty five minutes depending on where you are staying.

Do I need a reservation for wine tastings?

Many North Fork and Hamptons wineries welcome walk ins, though reservations are recommended on weekends and during the summer high season, particularly at Wölffer Estate.

Which wineries are best for a first time visitor?

Pindar Vineyards and Wölffer Estate are excellent starting points, offering a broad introduction to the region’s style on either side of the bay.

Can I visit wineries on both the North Fork and the Hamptons in one day?

It is possible, though a day fully dedicated to one side allows more time to enjoy each tasting room without rushing between them.

      Are these wineries family friendly?

Most welcome visitors of all ages in outdoor spaces, though tasting rooms are generally geared toward adults. Harbes Family Farm on the North Fork is a good alternative for a more family oriented outing.

What is the best time of year to visit for wine tasting?

Late summer through fall brings harvest energy and the most scenic vineyard views, while spring offers a quieter, less crowded alternative.
