10 Hidden Beaches on the North Fork

June 9, 2025

You’ll want these all to yourself

The North Fork is a place of pause. While the Hamptons hum with energy, the North Fork whispers—drawing in those who seek privacy, unspoiled views and a quieter kind of beauty. At Luxury Beach Getaway, we guide our guests toward experiences that feel personal. These lesser-known beaches offer room to breathe, uninterrupted moments and a sense of discovery that can’t be found in a crowd.

1. Bailie Beach Park, Mattituck

Set high above the Sound, this bluff-top beach is often overlooked. The shore stretches wide with driftwood and dunes. On most days, you’ll have it nearly to yourself.

2. Truman’s Beach, East Marion

A small, pebbled beach just off Route 25. It’s easy to miss, which is exactly why you’ll love it. The water is clear, the views are wide and the pace is wonderfully slow.

3. Nassau Point Beach, Cutchogue

Located at the tip of Nassau Point, this quiet bay beach is known for calm water and soft sand. It’s ideal for an early swim or a late-afternoon nap in the shade.

4. Klipp Park (Gull Pond Beach), Greenport

With gentle waves and a grassy approach, this tucked-away beach offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for families or solo sunseekers. Bring a book, leave the schedule.

5. Kenney’s Beach, Southold

Just off a winding road near the heart of town, Kenney’s Beach is an easygoing place to swim, walk or simply sit and listen. There’s something comforting about its simplicity.

6. Goldsmith’s Inlet, Peconic

A rare find. The inlet connects to a broad stretch of Sound-side beach. Here, shallow currents meet quiet coves. It’s a lovely spot for nature walks or barefoot exploration.

7. Orient Beach State Park (the unmarked cove)

Venture beyond the designated beach and walk along the shoreline trail. Around a bend, you’ll find a hidden crescent of sand bordered by trees and still water. Few ever go that far.

8. Town Beach, Southold

A locals’ favorite. The long stretch of shoreline is ideal for morning strolls or an evening glass of wine. It’s low-key, unfussy and often blissfully empty.

9. Cedar Beach, Southold

Waves roll in gently over polished pebbles. There are tidal pools at low tide and some of the best sunset views in the region. Bring a blanket and stay through dusk.

10. Norman E. Klipp Marine Park, Greenport

Don’t let the name fool you. Beyond the marina, there’s a peaceful beach with soft sand and a view of Shelter Island. It’s a quiet place to unwind just a short drive from town.
